Lauren Shook is a Los Angeles-based comedy/dramedy writer with a penchant for writing about dysfunctional adults. She holds a double BA in Psychology and Theatre Arts, which only partially explains the expertise in dysfunctional adults. Lauren has written over a dozen original pilots, including one that landed her meetings with ABC, Freeform, and other prominent Hollywood production companies.
She also provides feedback on and rewrites for hire on feature scripts. Her writing has garnered placements in various screenwriting competitions, most recently, as a top ten finalist in the prestigious Humanitas New Voices competition. She has also written and punched up jokes for the Humanitas Prize award show.
Fun fact: Lauren was a nationally ranked figure skater in her youth. In her spare time, she coaches youth volleyball, which has given her the greatest gift of all – knowledge of the latest TikTok trends!
